Thank you for your enquiry via our website. Yes, it is a bit of a minefield out there and it is sometimes difficult to separate the facts from the hype. I appreciate that you have provided your body weights, preferred feel and approximate budget, so full marks there, however, you have not advised the size of product required. With your body weights, I would recommend a soft spring tension for you and a medium for your husband to give you both the correct level of support. Having said that, for you to obtain a mattress with a split tension would mean opting for one of the products in our Artisan range, which may prove a little too expensive for you.

The alternative would be to look at the Origins Pocket 1500, which would provide the correct feel for your husband, but may feel slightly firm for you. Because this mattress together with a base would fall below your overall budget, there is, I might suggest, room for you to purchase a topper to soften the feel slightly for yourself, making this a great solution all round.
