I have an old Dunlopillo medium single matress over 20 years old on a sprung edge base is in need of replacement soon I have a health problem that keeps me awake and need a matress that does not dig in yet is not too soft - the dunlopillo matress without the sprung edge base is far too hard however is perfect in combination. Tried a new Dunlopillo replacement v thick heavy thing unlike my old one and was not nearly as good / too much give with the base too hard without it. What system would you recommend that might suit me do not like memory foam.

We do have some mattresses in our Fusion range which provide a similar feel to some of the Dunlopillo products, although I note that you have not specified the model you have. In addition, as you have not provided you weight details, it is not possible for me to make a specific recommendation.
