Mattress for back pain

Hi,
I'm looking at buying a Sealy Monte Carlo mattress, but I'm pretty sure there are other alternatives much cheaper then this and this is where I would need your advice. At the moment we have a mattress from Staples Bespoke Collection bought less then 1 year ago, but I'm waking up with back pain and shoulder pain all the time, so definitely this is not the right mattress for me and I'm really disappointed with it. I am also afraid to buy another mattress with pocket springs. Could you please advise an alternative option for a couple within normal weight? I'm 1,73 cm and 69kg and my husband is 1,84cm and 100 kg.
Thank you in advance!

Hi Laura,

Thanks for your question and sorry to hear of your aches and pains.

It would depend on the model but generally Sealy tend to be very firm mattresses, which could be what's causing the issues, particularly if you're a side sleeper

At your body weights you would both be matched with a Medium spring tension to get the right level of support.

Bodyweight Spring tension
Upto 16 Stone / 50-101kg Medium (1.4mm)
16 Stone / 101kg Upwards Firm (1.6mm)
Available in Bespoke Products (Please Call) Soft (1.2mm)

I'd then advise to go for something more medium or soft in that top layer.

Our Artisan Luxury is the softest mattress we retail giving that luxurious sink in sensation. Our Artisan Naturals is a true medium feeling model in that top layer providing a slight sink in sensation but not too much.

My safest advice would be to test some comparison models in stores such as Furniture Village, Harrods, House of Fraser or And So To Bed.

The Luxury compares to the Vi-Spring Devonshire and the Naturals compares to the Vi-Spring Regal Superb. Give those models a test if you can to put your mind at ease since as I can imagine you have reluctance to order again.

If you have any further queries in the meantime please don't hesitate to contact our office on 0161 437 4419.

Kind Regards, Lee.
