Our ottoman bases have what is referred to as a platform top and this is suitable for most types of mattresses. Having said that, they do have heavy duty gas struts and therefore, require a sizeable weight in the mattress to remain closed whilst not being slept on. Before purchasing an ottoman, you will need to establish the actual weight of your current mattress in order for us to be confident in recommending this base for you.

Alternatively, you may need to look at a divan base with four drawers, although this does not provide as much storage as the ottoman.
