Mattress Topper for Tempur Mattress

I purchased a Tempur Mattress a few months ago in the firm category. I am now suffering with lower back pain, not necessarily caused by the mattress but according to a chiropractor could well be aggravated by it. Would a less firm mattress topper, perhaps your latex version reduce the firmness of the tempur mattress.

Sorry to hear you're suffering from your Tempur mattress. We have a detailed article here on why the old advice of a firm mattress for a bad back is completely wrong! Tempur's original model is super firm and can lead to people finding it uncomfortable if it doesn't conform enough for them.
 
A latex topper will soften the very top layer, but won't fundamentally change the core Tempur mattress firmness. Ie it won't soften the support layer. What you could do is try a topper and if you still need a softer mattress match it up with say a fusion 5 or 6 to further softern it?
