Mattress topper to soften firm mattress

I have a firm mattress which I liked because I don't like to sink in too deeply however I think I need a compromise for a bit more softness . I can't buy a new mattress yet as this one is quite new and is a good one . Would a mattress topper give a little extra softness ?

Mattress toppers are used primarily to provide an additional comfort layer and in turn make a firm mattress feel slightly softer and so the straight answer to your question is yes. Having said that, it would be wise to check the information provided here with regard to body weight(s) and spring tension, just to satisfy yourself that you have opted for the correct tension in your recently purchased mattress.
