That really depends on the build method of the divan base so can only speak for our bases. Our hand made solid wood bases,  which are the bases in our Contemporary range, are made to take up to 35 stone in bodyweight excluding the mattress. However the solid divan bases in our Origins Range are not made to take this type of weight.   If you and a partner are going to exceed this then you may need a specially reinforced base.
