Not wish to be too soft
I think I would like a Medium (my weight 95 kg) Artisan Naturals super king zip and link, and although there is not many comments anout the zip and noticing it etc..I feel it might annoy me after a while. That Latex Topper sounds so nice I would like that, and was going to go for a pocket sprung Artisan base. However I am wondering if that will make the overall feeling too soft. My wife is 55kg and says she is not bothered by getting different spring tension on either side of the mattres, and we both like a firm mattress anyway. So I was wondering if I was going for the topper maybe a slightly harder flat divan base would be appropriate ? Also can you tell me if the topper just slides on top of the mattress - is there anything fixing it to the mattress otherwise will it not just slip off eventually ?ThanksB
Hello again Barnaby,
Thank you for your further enquiry.
The zips on zip and link products are placed around 2-3cm down from the piping on the edge of the mattress and are not usually felt by the users of the mattress. If you are fearful of being able to feel the zips, we would advise the use of a good quality mattress protector, which will not only offer protection to the mattress, but will provide an additional barrier between you and the zipped join. Mattress toppers are used primarily to provide an additional comfort layer to a mattress and as previously advised your spring tensions should be medium and soft, so there really should not be any need for a topper. We would always advocate using a new mattress for at least 28 days before deciding upon whether the comfort needs the addition of a topper. In addition, we would suggest using a natural fibre topper with naturally upholstered mattresses.
We trust this clarifies the position for you, but if you require anything further, please call our office on 0161 437 4419 and speak with one of our advisors.
Kind regards.
