Open coil spring mattress
Greetings, First off, thanks for the tips; it is without doubt very informative and much appreciated.
However, I just had a general question.
You state-- quite emphatically-- if a mattress features continuous coil, it is always best to walk away, as pocket coil is the superior option.
End of story.
I was just wondering whether you could elaborate a little bit on that point.
I just recently was in that very situation----a choice between a firm continuous coil mattress and a firm pocket coil offering.
(I chose the pocket coil model, which has yet to be delivered.
But I must admit, in terms of feel, it was pretty close).
In any case, I was wondering whether you could shed more specific light on your very specific advice regarding this matter.

Hi Steve.
It really is as simple as that.
Pocket springs are a premium means of support and open coil is not. The highest quality pocket springs will be calico encased and the spring wire will be vanadium plated. This enables the springs to breathe and prevents heat build up.
There are no redeeming features whatsoever to opt for an open coil mattress.
I'm not sure if you have read this post on pocket springs but it goes into greater depth on the viability of pocket springs.
Hope this helps but if you do require any further information or advice, please do not hesitate to contact our office on 0161 437 4419.
Kind regards Julie
