Lauren

Hello, we are looking for a firm mattress. We are 10 and 11 stones in weight. Which of these would you recommend more? Should the 2000 be avoided except for heavier people?
Thanks, Lauren

Hi Lauren,

Thank you for your enquiry.

We would not normally recommend a firm mattress for people of your particular body weights, in fact, a medium spring tension/feel mattress is more appropriate. Having said that, you have indicated that firm is your preference and we wonder what has prompted this preference?. The spring tension should be appropriate to provide the correct level of support and the comfort should be provided by the upholstery.

The Origins Pocket 1500 selected with 2000 springs, would in our view be too firm for your body weights. The Origins Pocket Reflex 1000, whilst having the same medium tension spring unit as 1500, has a layer of reflex foam making it feel slightly firmer than the medium feel 1500. The Pocket Reflex mattress is the one we usually recommend to B&Bs and Guesthouses as it is suitable for a wide range of body weights when used on an occasional basis.

We trust that the above helps, although it may be prudent for you to call our office on 0161 437 4419 to discuss your requirement for a firm feel in more detail and obtain more specific advice as to suitability from one of our advisors.

Kind regards.
