Problems with bensons beds

Hi, Fantastic website, I went out to buy a new mattress as mine is 7 years old. Ended up visiting a Bensons Factory clearance store and bought a "Connoisseur Firmer Tension Mattress, made by Relyon" Myself and my girlfriend have hardly slept for a week and I waking up with a bad back,Which I have never suffered with in my life. We were told a Firmer tension is the same as a medium in this bed but I am not convinced, the pillow top makes it seem softer than it is. I wanted a soft or medium mattress?
I am 6ft, 13 Stone and 32 years old. Bensons are arguing over a refund saying its a comfort issue?
What would you recommend out of your range that would be suitable, I am mainly a side or front sleeper and so is my girlfriend. We did not pay £1000 for this mattress is it was clearance, I am not sure how much to budget for a mattress?

Thanks for your question.
Our guidelines for your body weights are a Medium spring tension so I would think that the issue here is that tension of the mattress as well as possibly the feel of the mattress are just too firm for you.

Side sleepers need to avoid anything too firm in the top layers and front sleepers need to avoid anything too soft in the top layers. This can lead to either pressure point pains for side sleepers or an unnatural arch in the back for front sleepers.
