purchase of a new bed and frame

Hi , I'm after a new bed and mattress, I would like to keep to around a budget of £2k, I'm looking for a super king size having realised that they are longer than normal double beds, I'm 6'1" 17 St. and my wife is 5'1 and appx. 11 St. we have used a sleepmaster memory foam mattress for the last 8 years on a wooden non-sprung slat bed frame, in the stores the only thing we can find most similar is the tempur 21 cloud ( similar due to the fact ours no longer has the lovely sink into it feeling that it used to have) - whats your advice? many thanks mark

We note your preference for foam products and the fact that you have slept on a memory foam mattress fro the last 8 years. The Tempur Cloud is a memory foam product and although we do not make memory foam mattresses, our Hybrid 4 is the most similar to the Tempur in terms of feel. For someone of your body weight this is likely to feel soft and for your wife it will provide a medium feel.
Having said that, if you are going to place it on your current slatted base, we would advise placing some form of barrier, usually thin (3-5mm) MDF over the slats. This will provide the mattress with a uniform surface upon which to sit and prevent ridging occurring as a result of the mattress dipping into the gaps between the slats.
