Questions about sprung bases
Hi I spoke to a very helpful Gary today about ordering my daughter the origins reflex mattress which I am definitly going to order this week.
We discussed ordering the base too.
My question is regarding the base.
Would this mattress be better/more comfortable if I purchased her a sprung divan base or should I go with the platform base.
I have had a look online and have found the Kozee Sleep Ellie 4ft Small Double Sprung Divan Base from archers at £245 with 4 drawers which is slightly more expensive but sprung or will it not really make a great deal of difference.
I am also thinking of ordering the artisan natural bed for myself and notice that your base is sprung for this model.
Any info gratefully recieved, many thanks.

Hi Sal,
Thanks for your question and your great feedback.
Our Origins Pocket Reflex 1000 mattress has a medium spring tension as standard with a firmer top upholstery. Whilst it is firmer in that top layer we get a lot of feedback from customers that the mattress is very comfortable at the same time.
Origins Reflex | |
---|---|
1 | 750gsm Very soft Polyester |
2 | One inch reflex foam layer |
3 | 270gsm Polyester |
4 | One inch reflex foam layer |
5 | 1000 Spun Bond Pocket Springs |
As standard the Origins range of mattresses are paired with a solid platform top base. A solid top base will give any mattress a slightly firmer overall.
Our Artisan range of mattresses are paired with a sprung base as standard, similar to Vi-Spring. A sprung base will give any mattress on top of it a slightly softer feel as well as adding extra support and acting as a shock absorber.
However, our Origins mattresses can be paired with a sprung base. I, myself, have the Origins Comfort 1000 mattress paired with our Artisan Pocket Sprung Base and I absolutely love this set up. Ultimately, it depends what you want from the base and mattress.
I hope this has answered your questions fully but if you do have any further queries please don't hesitate to contact our office on 0161 437 4419.
Kind Regards, Lee.
