Hello My Wife & I need a new bed & have been searching for the last few months.
I am 17st 5'11" my Wife is 9.5 st 5'5".
I suffer with a lower back problem & painfull neck & shoulders.
Our current bed is a kingsize Harrison firm matress 1200 springs with a sprung base.
We do not want memory foam or latex, what would you recommend.

Hi Mark,
From the additional information provided, I think that the additional pains you are now suffering may be because the mattress you have, albeit 14 years old, is too firm.
Bodyweight | Spring tension |
---|---|
Upto 16 Stone / 50-101kg | Medium (1.4mm) |
16 Stone / 101kg Upwards | Firm (1.6mm) |
Available in Bespoke Products (Please Call) | Soft (1.2mm) |
Given that there is quite a difference in body weights, I suggest a split tension would be more appropriate.
Our “Artisan Bespoke 004” which has combined upholstery layers of 3600 GSM which, combined with a firmer spring tension, ought to provide the support you need.
This could be ordered in a split tension of Medium for your partner and Firm for you.
You could supplement this with a topper should the medium tension prove too firm for your partner, who ideally would be best suited to a soft spring tension.
It is not feasible to combine a Firm spring tension with a Soft, although Medium/Firm the most appropriate option given the weight discrepancies.
This mattress is comparable to the Vi Spring “Regal Superb”, which has 3100 GSM of upholstery.
I trust that this is of assistance to you but, if you require any further advice prior to placing an order, please contact the office.
Kind Regards Gary
