Replacing the Origins Latex 2000 with the Tailored Pocket 2000?
Hi,
We have had one of your Origins latex 2000 for around 10 years and looking for a replacement. Had a slipped disc a few years ago so have some back pain and not the lightest of people, what would you recommend as a replacement mattress? Would the Artisan Tailored Pocket 2000 be suitable?
Regards David
Hi David,
Thank you for your enquiry. Did you have any problems with the Origins Pocket Latex 2000 or is it just a case of it is getting on a bit? We still produce this mattress so if there were no problems you could replace your old one with a new one. You don't say what your current weight is but I am assuming that as you had the 2000 spring option it is above 16 stone. The advice used to be that for any kind of back problem you needed a firm mattress but that is no longer the case. With the right spring tension for your body weight to give you the correct level of support, the upholstery layer should then be determined by your comfort preferences and sleeping habits.
Bodyweight | Spring tension |
---|---|
Upto 16 Stone / 50-101kg | Medium (1.4mm) |
16 Stone / 101kg Upwards | Firm (1.6mm) |
Available in Bespoke Products (Please Call) | Soft (1.2mm) |
The Artisan Tailored Pocket 2000 is not as firm in the upholstery layers as the Origins Pocket Latex 1500 but with a firm spring tension would still be as supportive. The upholstery on this mattress is more of a medium feel, meaning that it has a slight sink but not too much.
I hope this was of some help to you and if you would like to discuss the suitability of any of our mattresses please do not hesitate to contact the office on 0161 437 4419.
Kind Regards
Michaela
