Sealy crown jewel pillow top too soft

A customer asked

About 6 months ago I purchased a Sealy Crown Jewel plush Eurotop mattress, which, unfortunately, has proved a bit soft. I have it on a fixed slat base (slats are 3 inches apart) and am considering whether to put plywood on top of the slats. Would this make it firmer?
Additionally, I have the option of converting the mattress to a plush without the Eurotop but with exactly the same comfort layers as the one with the Eurotop? Both mattresses are the same height, even though one is a Eurotop. My question is: Would the tight top mattress be firmer even though the comfort layers and the height of both mattresses are the same?
Regards,
Adam

Hi Adam,

Thank you for your email.

The Eurotop mattress is one with a "pillow top", which we never advise anyone to purchase due to the inherent issues with comfort, as the "pillow top" tends to flatten and at that point replacement of the whole mattress is required, rather than in the case of a separate topper, just the topper needs replacing, making the latter a more economic option.

It may be that the mattress replacement they are offering is a double sided mattress, meaning that it can be rotated and turned, extending the life span of the mattress. It is possible that the replacement may feel different, but without full details of the upholstery layers by way of GSM (grams per square metre), it is impossible to say. I would suggest you try the replacement in store before agreeing to accept it.

I hope this assists but please do not hesitate to contact our office for further advice / information.   If we can help you with any of our products, again, please telephone our office on 0161 437 4419.

Kind regards Julie
