Second hand vi spring

Hello,
I would be interested to hear your thoughts about purchasing a 3 year old stain-free king size Vi Spring mattress for £450. Having read that wool and natural upholstery extremely breathable and is resistant to dust mites, would a used vi spring be susceptible to these issues? Although there are obvious risks of buying used mattresses, I've seen quite a few second hand vi springs being sold on eBay for above £400, although obviously less for those that were as old as 9 years old with stains. Is the natural upholstery superior to the extent where you can overlook its age and usage? I'm quite intrigued about the second hand vi spring market and so would be keen to know what you think. Thank you for your help.
Best,
Sienna.

Hi Sienna,

Thanks for your question.

We can't offer any opinion or advice here as you haven't disclosed which model it is, what feel it has or your body weights. Please see our article here for points to consider when purchasing a mattress.

We would similarly need to know the conditions the mattress has been used under in order to offer any advice.

Any mattress runs the risk of dust mites - If you think it is a concern then you might be best checking a company online called Allersafe. They retail mattress encasement's that go round the entire mattress and are zipped to offer protection to the mattress.

It might be best speaking to the retailer direct as they might know further information about their own products.

I hope this has answered your questions fully but if you do have any further queries please don't hesitate to contact our office on 0161 437 4419. We are open Monday to Friday 8am tp 8pm and Saturday and Sunday 10am to 4pm.

Kind Regards, Lee.
