Similar to John Lewis 13000?
Need your advice. We want to replace our mattress with something that will last longer and give a 5 star feel while lying on bed. We have been trying mattress and have found that the nearest which is good to 5 star is the John Lewis 13000 pocket sprung mattress but it is very expensive. Can you advice on what other mattress should provide a similar experience?
.
Hi Nav.
Thank you for your question.
I have had a look at the John Lewis mattress and all it tells me is that it has a more medium overall comfort meaning the mattress is neither too soft nor too firm but it does not specify the GSM of the upholstery within the mattress. This makes it very difficult to make a comparison to any of our mattresses other than to say it does contain certain amounts of natural fillings. I would therefore recommend a mattress from our Artisan Range but I would ideally need to know body weights and preferred feel in order for me to recommend which of our mattresses would suit you best.
We do have a comparison article showing alternatives to John Lewis mattresses and another post on comparisons the Vispring range at John Lewis which may be of interest to read.
Bodyweight | Spring tension |
---|---|
Upto 16 Stone / 50-101kg | Medium (1.4mm) |
16 Stone / 101kg Upwards | Firm (1.6mm) |
Available in Bespoke Products (Please Call) | Soft (1.2mm) |
Please be aware that most of the bed manufacturers base their spring count on a kingsize mattress and the most you can get into a kingsize mattress is 2000 springs. The more springs in a mattress the less space for upholstery fillings.
