Slatted bed making my mattress dip?

Hi there,
I have just read up on your slatted section and could just do with knowing one more thing. You said you didn't completely cover the base with MDF- did you just leave a small gap around the edge? I have a Loaf CoCo sprung slatted Super king with no centre leg. I have just returned a Casper Mattress as it sagged in the middle after 7 days. I have to ay the bed was comfy but I think it it our bed that is the problem thing- if I was to purchase from you considering my bed which mattress of yours would you advise? Cheaper end to be honest. I will MDF the bed, I have mild lower back issues and like a firm but comfy mattress. This is why I liked the Casper, it was firm but cosy. Also, the zip mattress?? Is this 2 mattresses zipped together? Would this be an option instead of MDF as there would be no mattress leaning on the centre bar.
Thanks

Hi Lucy,

Thank you for your enquiry.  If the space between the slats on your base is less than 3 inches you would just need to put MDF down the middle of the base to bridge the slats. This will prevent a mattress from dipping in the middle. You would still need to do this with a zip and link mattress. If the space between the slats is greater than 3 inches you would need to board over the whole base to give the mattress a uniform surface.

Bodyweight Spring tension
Upto 16 Stone / 50-101kg Medium (1.4mm)
16 Stone / 101kg Upwards Firm (1.6mm)
Available in Bespoke Products (Please Call) Soft (1.2mm)

Our firmer Origins mattress is the Origins Pocket Reflex 1000. I would need to know the body weights of anyone sleeping on the mattress to ensure that the medium spring tension of this mattress would give the correct level of support.

I hope this is helpful and if you would like any further information please do not hesitate to contact the office on 0161 437 4419.

Kind Regards
Michaela Long
