Slatted bedstead

Thank you for your enquiry via our website.  All of our mattresses can be used on a slatted base, however, we would always advocate that you place some form of barrier between the mattress and the slats, usually in the form of thin (3-5mm) MDF sheets.

This will make the mattress feel slightly firmer and will prevent ridging occurring as a result of the mattress dipping into the gaps between the slats, which can give a lumpy feel to the mattress and it will become damaged. It also protects against bulging or dipping of the mattress at a point where the central bar sits underneath.
