Sprung slats and your mattresses

Hi,

We've recently purchased a new TV bed with sprung slats and are looking to replace our mattress. We've been looking to buy one from your website, either the Artisan Natural or the Artisan 1500 mattress.

Are either of these better suited to a sprung slat bed or can you recommend another from your range that is?

Hi Stueg,

Thank you for your enquiry.

All of our pocket sprung mattresses can be used on sprung slatted bases, however, we would urge to adopt the following practice. You should place some thin (3-5mm) MDF over the base to provide the mattress with a uniform surface upon which to sit and prevent ridging occurring as a result of the mattress dipping into the gaps between the slats.

In addition, all sprung slatted bases have a central ridge where the two halves of the bed join in the middle and with all mattresses, this can cause a dip or ridge to occur over that particular area and the application of the thin flexible MDF will prevent this happening.

We trust that this is of help to you, but if you require any further advice or guidance in respect of our mattresses, please call our office on 0161 437 4419.

Kind Regards Gary
