A customer asked

We are looking for a superking divan style bed. We currently have a vi spring baronet supreme ( medium firm) which we find VERY comfortable. Because we work away we need an equally comfortable bed in our commuter flat but cannot run to another vi spring! Which bed would you recommend? Thank you

Hi Janet,

Thanks for your question.

Whilst we have no direct comparison to the Vi-Spring Baronet Supreme you do disclose it is a medium firm mattress so it gives us something to work with at least.

I would advise you have a look at our Artisan 1500 or Artisan Tailored Pocket 2000. Our Artisan range of mattresses are what we compare with Vi-Spring and both these models are what we compare with the Vi-Spring Regal Superb. Both have a medium upholstery but these are more the firm side of medium with the 1500 being the firmer of the 2 models.

The Artisan Tailored Pocket 2000 has a manufactured dual layered spring system in the construction and feels ever so slightly softer than the 1500. The 1500 has 53% natural fillings as opposed to 85% for the Tailored Pocket 2000. Anyone who identifies as a hot sleeper is best looking at natural fillings as they provide a cool sleep surface.

Please note however we would need to know your body weights in order to discuss suitability; Spring tension is determined by body weight alone and these guidelines will differ between retailers.

Bodyweight Spring tension
Upto 16 Stone / 50-101kg Medium (1.4mm)
16 Stone / 101kg Upwards Firm (1.6mm)
Available in Bespoke Products (Please Call) Soft (1.2mm)

I hope this has answered your questions fully but if you do have any further queries please don't hesitate to contact our office on 0161 437 4419. Our small friendly team are on hand to assist Monday to Friday 8am to 8pm and Saturday and Sunday 10am to 4pm.

Kind Regards, Lee.
