What level of comfort?

A customer asked

Hello, our current king size mattress is long passed its comfort from its first purchase many years ago. Recently my wife and I have been complaining of aches and pains possibly of poor rest. Our mattress is a Reylon brand or make with 1200 hand nested pocket sprung with a pillow effect on the upper surface fitted with reflex foam. The mattress cannot be turned over but can be turned 180 degrees on occasion. Do your mattresses have a similar maintenance? We have almost forgotten just how comfortable the mattress was when first bought. A similar or improved level of comfort would be , we expect , something we would be looking for. Perhaps in the medium range. We are of average weight and build for our ages , I am a male of 63 weighing 13 stone and my wife is 60 and weighs roughly 11 stone ( I hope I got that right !!! ) Thanks. Kevin

Hi Kevin,

Many thanks for your enquiry.

We do not make nor recommend the type you currently have, which are known as pillow top mattresses, for the reasons outlined in the article link.

With your particular body weights, we would suggest that you go for a medium spring tension in your mattress, although without knowledge of your budget it is difficult to recommend a specific product from our ranges.

Bodyweight Spring tension
Upto 16 Stone / 50-101kg Medium (1.4mm)
16 Stone / 101kg Upwards Firm (1.6mm)
Available in Bespoke Products (Please Call) Soft (1.2mm)

Having said that, please view the Origins Pocket 1500, which has a standard medium tension spring with man made upholstery layers providing an overall medium feel.

However, if your budget permits, please view the Artisan Naturals, Artisan Bespoke 004 or the Artisan Bespoke all of which can have the spring tension selected to suit and have natural upholstery,

The Naturals and Bespoke 004 will provide the same feel with the Naturals having 85% natural upholstery as opposed to the 004 which has 100%. The Bespoke on the other hand has 100%, but will provide a firmer feel in the upholstery even if a medium spring tension is selected.

All of the mattresses referred to above are double sided and should be turned and rotated on a regular basis, usually every month for the first twelve months.

You ought to turn one month and rotate the following month.

We trust that the above is of help to you, but if you require any further advice or guidance, please call our office on 0161 437 4419.

Kind Regards, John and Ryan.
