A customer asked

Hi,My Husband is 15st and i am 9.5st. We are looking to replace (although only 2 years old) our king size Relyon mattress which feels very firm. The Relyon bed has sprung slats and the mattress lifts from the size for storage. Could you please advise what mattress/firmness you would recommend. Many thanks Christine >

Hi Christine,

although you have provided your weights and advised that your Relyon mattress feels firm, you have not indicated your actual preferred feel or budget, making any suggestions in respect of a replacement a little difficult.

Your body weight will determine the spring tension as displayed below,

Bodyweight Spring tension
Upto 16 Stone / 50-101kg Medium (1.4mm)
16 Stone / 101kg Upwards Firm (1.6mm)
Available in Bespoke Products (Please Call) Soft (1.2mm)

From there,

Thanks for getting in touch.

Your sleeping habits/personal preference will then determine how you would like the mattress to feel in the comfort layers. This is where you will achieve the feel you are looking for (soft/medium/firm). Do you know if you have a preference for a soft, medium or firm?

If you do not, I would advise to go out and try the;
Vispring Devonshire - Soft in upper layers - Comparable with the Artisan Luxury
Vispring Regal Superb - True medium in upper layers - Comparable with Artisan Bespoke 004
Vispring Herald - Firm in the upper layers - Comparable with the Artisan Bespoke

I hope that helps and if you have any further questions please get back in touch on 0161 437 4419 or info@localhost.
