Whats the difference between contract beds and retail bed prices?
I have been reading your website with great interest (thank you!) and, before i start shopping, there is a question which i not manage to get an answer to: I may well be in the wrong but for some reason it seems that the Contract Beds mattress are much cheaper than the one retailed to individuals, so my question is what is the difference between the two?
Lastly, maybe you could help me with your experience I am currently looking for a superking mattress and was thinking about zip and link (so i can get it up my stairs) with a big topper to avoid the difference in feel in the middle. Is there any combinations you would particularly recommend for an all in price paid of no more than £1500?
Thanks a lot in advance >
Hi Guillaume,
Thank you for your enquiry. All our mattresses have been tested and approved as compliant under BS 5852: 1982 Part II and BS7177. Our beds have the following FR applications:
Contract beds, beds for hotels and guest houses, have to comply with stricter fire regulations.
Zip and links are a great option when you have access issues and when there is a variance between body weights and two different spring tensions are required. Spring tension is based solely on an individuals body weight to give the correct support.
Bodyweight | Spring tension |
---|---|
Upto 16 Stone / 50-101kg | Medium (1.4mm) |
16 Stone / 101kg Upwards | Firm (1.6mm) |
Available in Bespoke Products (Please Call) | Soft (1.2mm) |
We would need to know your body weights, comfort preferences and sleeping habits to be able to give you a tailored recommendation. Please contact our friendly team on 0161 437 4419 who would be happy to recommend a suitable mattress for yourself. Our office hours are 8 am - 8 pm Monday to Friday and 10 am - 4 pm Saturday and Sunday.
Kind Regards
Michaela
