Gosh, I can completely empathise with you at 9 stone on a firm tension mattress.  Ouch!  However, not all is lost as we can produce split tension or zip and link mattresses to overcome the issue of one side needing a firmer support than the other.

Our Artisan range can all be handmade using two different tensions in a zip and link mattress.

In your case, I'd be recommending a soft spring tension for you and a firm for your partner.  This can only be done in a zip and link mattress as a soft/firm split would not work in one piece.  You need the zip and link to separate the two tensions as they are too different to be housed in one piece.  They need a little more construction support from the perimeter you see or you would end up with a weird feeling in the middle of the mattress where the firm meets soft!

Have a look at the Artisan 1500 which can be made in a zip and link. It will have a medium feel in the top upholstery layer or the Artisan Naturals which is ever so slightly softer in feel to the Artisan 1500.  If you want a firm feel in the upholstery/comfort layer then have a look at the Artisan Bespoke. I wouldn't recommend too firm in the top layer for you as this may result in discomfort in the long term.  You need to sink somewhat to get comfortable in a mattress.
