Hi, i am a 17stone, 5`10" man and my wife is 5`1", 9 stone. We are looking at replacing our sprung base divan with a pocket sprung mattress. I have back problems and hip problems and am considering a pocket sprung base and mattress as replacement with a gel topper. Please advise your best solution.

With the weight differential and heights, the optimum solution would be a split tension mattress, medium for your wife and firm for you, either in a one piece or zip and link set. The split tension mattresses are available in our Artisan range and all mattresses in this range are paired with a firm edge sprung base.

All of these mattresses will give you both a medium comfort from the upholstery layers making the mattress neither too soft nor too firm. The difference between these mattresses is the amount of natural fillings ranging from 50/50 to 100%. The more natural fillings in a mattress, the higher the cost.
