which is the most suitable bed combination for my wife and myself
Hi, i am a 17stone, 5`10" man and my wife is 5`1", 9 stone. We are looking at replacing our sprung base divan with a pocket sprung mattress. I have back problems and hip problems and am considering a pocket sprung base and mattress as replacement with a gel topper. Please advise your best solution.
Many Thanks.
Hi Terry,
Thank you for your question.
With the weight differential and heights, the optimum solution would be a split tension mattress, medium for your wife and firm for you, either in a one piece or zip and link set. The split tension mattresses are available in our Artisan range and all mattresses in this range are paired with a firm edge sprung base.
Bodyweight | Spring tension |
---|---|
Upto 16 Stone / 50-101kg | Medium (1.4mm) |
16 Stone / 101kg Upwards | Firm (1.6mm) |
Available in Bespoke Products (Please Call) | Soft (1.2mm) |
Please view the Artisan products an in particular the Artisan 1500, Artisan Tailored Pocket 2000, Artisan Naturals and the Artisan Bespoke 004. All of these mattresses will give you both a medium comfort from the upholstery layers making the mattress neither too soft nor too firm. The difference between these mattresses is the amount of natural fillings ranging from 50/50 to 100%. The more natural fillings in a mattress, the higher the cost.
Once you have viewed these products, please call our office for more specific advice as to suitability on 0161 437 4419. I trust that this helps.
Kind regards Julie
