In regards to your mattress query we would need to know your body weight in order to discuss suitable spring tension;
 

 
However, being a side sleeper and wanting something that isn't too firm in the top layers I'd recommend you have a look at our Artisan Naturals. This is very much a true medium feeling model in the top layers giving a slight sink but not too much. It is also our best selling model.
