What should be the best choice of mattress for an European Line Roset bed equiped with slatted bases? Some people told us Latex only. Is it true? Thank you.

Hi Stephane,

Whilst I have tried to review the product you refer to it is not entirely clear whether this is an adjustable bed. If it is, then pocket sprung mattresses are not suitable and Latex or Hybrid foam would be the direction you ought to follow. If it is not an adjustable bed, there is no reason why you ought to be limited to Latex only and pocket sprung products would be suitable.

When using any product with a slatted base, we would always recommend placing some form of barrier between the mattress and the slats to avoid any ridging occurring, although the gaps between the slats will dictate what for of barrier ought to be used. If the slats are less than 6cm apart, then an old duvet will offer the protection needed. If the gap is wider, then thin (3-5mm) MDF sheeting may be more appropriate and will provide a uniform surface upon which the mattress can sit.

I trust the above information is of assistance to you but if you do require any information relating to any of our products, please do not hesitate to telephone our office on 0161 437 4419.  When discussing a mattress, we need to have details of body weights, heights and preferred feel.

Kind regards Julie
