Would you be able to provide some suggestions as to the type of mattress that would be most suitable for:

- Weight: 78kg and 6ft 5in

– The firmness of your current mattress. Firm. Would like a mattress that sink into without it being too soft so that don't feel supported or end up rolling into partner

– Your base type (e.g. slatted) slatted

Hi Janice,

It is difficult to recommend a particular product without knowledge of the budget, however, I confirm that for the body weight referred to above, a medium spring tension would be appropriate. Having said that, I note you have not disclosed the weight of the partner involved and I also note that you have previously placed an order for and Artisan Naturals double mattress.

On the basis of that selection, I assume you are looking at natural upholstery, which is our Artisan range of mattresses. All the mattresses in that range can be used on a slatted base, provided that some form of barrier, usually in the form of thin (3-5mm) MDF is placed between the mattress and the base, which will prevent ridging occurring as a result of the mattress dipping into the gaps between the slats. In addition, this will make the mattress feel slightly firmer.

The products in the Artisan range that I would direct you to are the Artisan Naturals, Artisan Bespoke 004 and the Artisan Bespoke.

The Naturals has 85% natural upholstery and the 004 and Bespoke both have 100%.

All can be made in a medium spring tension and the Naturals and 004 will provide a similar feel, whereas the Bespoke may feel a little firmer in the top layers.

I trust that this helps, but if you require any further advice or guidance, please call our office on 0161 437 4419 to speak with one of our friendly advisors.

Kind regards,

Amy.
