Would the Sleepeeze Jessica mattress be supportive enough?
Hi, I'm on the hunt for a new mattress. How do you find the specifications of the Sleepeeze Jessica mattress to line up? Is there an adequate spring support system? I suffer with back pain due to my current mattress. Me and my partner are under 5'8 and of average weight. Thanks
Hi Mitch,
Thank you for your question. Support is very important for those that suffer from back issues. The advice used to be that anyone with back problems needed a firm mattress but that is no longer the case. You need the correct support for your body weight and height. A medium spring tension will support bodyweights up to 17 stone whilst the firm spring tension supports bodyweights between 17 stone and 23 stone.
I have looked at the Sleepteeze Jessica mattress today. This mattress has 3 layers of foam, a support layer, a memory foam layer, and a cooling gel layer. There is density given for these foam layers but the mattress is described as medium comfort. There is then a layer of 1000 SoftTech springs which are used as a performance comfort layer or mattress filler for a more durable comfort layer and to boost coil counts. There are 800 full-sized pocket springs (all spring counts are given for a kingsize mattress) that are encapsulated with unknown tension. This mattress has an RRP of £1260 (April 23). A medium comfort is suitable for all sleep positions as it is not too firm for side sleepers and not too soft for those that sleep on their front or back.
Our closest comparison to this mattress is the Origins Pocket Latex 1500. This mattress has 1500 medium tension pocket springs to provide support for bodyweights up to 17 stone, depending on height. There are two layers of 3 cm Talalay Latex which is much more responsive and durable than memory foam. It is also more breathable than memory foam which gives a cooler sleep surface and less heat retention. This retails at £1230 for a kingsize (April 23)
I hope this helps and if you would like any further information or would like to discuss your individual needs, please do not hesitate to contact the office on 0161 437 4419.
Kind Regards
Michaela
