Zip link in king base

What is the difference between a zip link king base and normal king base divans?

Hi Sham,

Thank you for your question. All divan bases, larger than a single size, are divided into two pieces. The way that they are divided depends on which base it is and the size of the base.

Skipton Emerald

All double sizes have an east-to-west divide. With the Contemporary Platform base, which provides a solid uniform surface for the mattress, the kingsize has an east to west divide, whilst the super kingsize has a north to south divide. With the Artisan pocket sprung base, which cushions the mattress, both the kingsize and super kingsize have a north to south divide.

A zip and link base will have a north to south divide so that the base and mattress can be divided into two separate beds. Suppose you are considering the Artisan pocket sprung base. In that case, it will make no difference whether you order a standard or zip and link base. However, if you are considering a Contemporary platform base in a kingsize, you would need a zip and link base if you plan to separate the beds at any point.

I hope this helps and if you would like any further information, please do not hesitate to contact the office on 0161 437 4419.

Kind Regards

Michaela
