The top comfort layer of this mattress uses one of the most expensive natural fibres, Pashmina for a dream-like-float sensation in the top layer. This 100% natural fibre layer adds breathability and the luxury you would expect from a John Ryan mattress.
The use of Rebound Poly-Cotton (RPC) and polyester provides this model with a medium or firm feel with a huge amount of upholstery for both comfort and support. This combination contributes greatly towards the overall feel and longevity of the mattress providing loft & resilience.
The springs are the component which enabled us to build to a specific price point. The same spring material as used in the Calico units – just the housing is different to keep the John Ryan Express at this competitive price point. This model comes with a 1.4 gauge spring in a medium tension.
The upholstery quantity and quality is among the best you can get for this budget. There is a massive combined upholstery weight of 22500 GSM using the finest natural Pashmina as the top comfort layer.

This model has an overall medium or medium/firm feel in the upholstery layers.
It has a 1.4 medium gauge spring tension, perfect for the majority of sleepers.
The John Ryan Express has 4 stitched handles, 2 on each side for ease of monthly turning and rotating.
Our John Ryan Express range really is unbeatable in terms of comfort and quality. Many mattress try at this price point to provide a tiny amount of natural fibres but we’ve gone one step further using 100% natural Pashmina as the main comfort layer. No cheap synthetic foams or fillers.

No, and no showroom or retailer sells our products. This is part of the reason why our prices can be so competitive: our internet-based company model allows us to avoid passing the excessive costs of other retailers on to our customers. Most staff within showrooms are also not bed experts (unlike our own in-house team). Sadly, such staff probably wouldn’t understand mattress manufacture to the extent that they could reliably answer your questions. Our team will be able to guide you to the right product for you and your budget. We grade the products in our warehouse and the grading is decided based on the condition of the product upon return. All mattresses are Grade B or C. At this stage we cannot give you the history of each product or the very specifics of where any marks may be located so if this is important for you to know then a clearance bed may not be for you and you can choose your mattress in the normal way. We do however guarantee that the condition will be no worse than described below and in most cases is actually better!
