Notably, there were absolutely no questions asked when I expressed dissatisfaction with my first choice. A replacement was arranged by JRBD and the delivery company exchanged the mattresses without any fuss. A refund of the (significant) difference in price was made promptly.   8. I will never buy a mattress from anywhere else Fantastic company. I bought a single Origins Comfort mattress 2.5 years ago for my son and it is as comfortable now as the day we got it. So comfortable and such good quality that I recently purchased a small double from the same range for my other son. I will be upgrading my own bed soon as well! Service is excellent. Their website has so much information and choosing a bed is very easy. They also call you after ordering to make sure it’s the right choice for you. I am aware there is a good return policy, making it more reassuring to buy such an item online, but we certainly didn’t need to use it. Our order arrived in less than three weeks and was delivered by Keen & Able – excellent service from them also. If only all online businesses were as great as this one. I’d give more than 5 stars if I could!

    We bought one of these for our eldest, it was so good we bought another one for our youngest. And, since my youngest kicks me out of bed at least three times a week at various points during the night, I have slept on it many times and can vouch for its comfort (I’m 5’6 & 11st for reference). They both sleep much better generally since we replaced their old mattresses. Much cooler and more comfortable. Highly recommended.

  15. You don’t get customer support like that nowadays.
    Great company, we agonised over mattresses for months. We’ve been sleeping on it for only a few days, but early signs are good..

    What make this company an easy recommendation is the customer support. One number to ring, someone picks up the phone (sometimes immediately) and will just any question.

    I usually just research things online and buy them, but I went through our needs with one of the advisors, they were quick, professional, and most importantly, didn’t try to upsell anything (I keep a keen eye on these things). I asked them a couple of questions expecting the answer to be: buy this or upgrade to that, but to my delight, they gave me reasonable advice (that didn’t involve paying extra).

    If these mattresses (we bought 2) held up nicely and were comfortable long term (I’m very optimistic), then they’ll have a customer for life. Hopefully I’ll be able to afford their higher trim offerings in the future.

    Delighted with the super king zip and link mattresses. In spite of ordering just before before lockdown we were kept fully informed of the situation and they were delivered at the earliest opportunity. The guys who delivered were professional and courteous.
    I simply cannot fault the service from start to finish. The result is a very comfortable bed that both of us enjoy sleeping on and I can wriggle as much as I like and my husband doesn’t get disturbed! 👍😊

  22. Very pleased with my new bed – wish I’d taken the plunge sooner.
    I found John Ryan via recommendations on the MSE forums and was also attracted by their money back guarantee. I’ve tried other products like sofa’s in shops before, thought they were comfy and purchased, only to discover with more extended use at home they were not.

    JR’s try for 30 days money back offer made sense and gave peace of mind. The sheer amount of information on their site is a real help in understanding how beds are made, the kind of materials and construction you should expect for your money as well the way those different materials effect the feel and comfort of a bed. All of this really helps narrow down the type of bed most suited to you. I would recommend visiting their site for the info alone. It’s relayed in a non biased way and very helpful.

    John Ryan will use their experience to work with you and help you decide – I’d already used all the info there to get a good idea but they confirmed my choice was going to best suit my needs and although I told them my budget would stretch further if required the model they agreed best suited was their cheapest Origins 1000. It was delivered shortly afterwards, all went well on that front and though I was fully prepared and expecting to need to wait a short time for it to, bed in, sorry, I am so happy that right from the first night it’s been very comfy and I know I’ve made the right choice.

    I’d had my previous bed for an embarrassingly long amount of time, with it in a heck of shabby state and wish I’d replaced it sooner. Like a lot of folks though I find these big purchases an absolute pita. It’s impossible to make a decision and nine times out of ten, I seem to get it wrong. That’s why I’m writing a longer review than I otherwise would – in the hope it helps someone else in a similar dilemma and also because JR genuinely deserve it. Good value, good service and more importantly in my experience, you end up with a bed you like.

  27. I am absolutely delighted with this Mattress and Sprung Divan I very recently purchased. Just wish I had done so sooner. I wanted a soft feel, weighing under 9 stone and also been ill I wanted something that was comfortable and cosy. I definitely made the right decision. I considered a topper but on Gary’s advice I waited until I had tested the bed for a few nights first. I think the bed is perfect as it is.

    We purchased a more expensive mattress, base & headboard for another property and we were over the moon with that one too. Hence I decided to change my bed too. So this is the second bed I have purchased from them in 6 months. Excellent service, I can not fault them.

  28. We would absolutely and 100% recommend this company. We bought a Kingsize Origins Comfort 1000 after being impressed with the informative website and helpful advice from the office. The mattress came and was obviously good quality, delivered with a fast and efficient service. My husband really liked it but for me it was a little soft. We rang the company and the recommended that we change our mattress for the Origins Pocket 1500, which they said we would probably prefer. The new mattress arrived a week later and the other one was taken away; again an efficient and courteous service with no charge for their inconvenience. We are both delighted with the new mattress.It is perfect for me, firm but very comfortable, and again we are very happy with the quality.   29. JohnRyan provided us with brilliant customer service when purchasing the Origins Comfort 1000 Kingsize mattress.

    When ordering on the phone, they made sure we were ordering the right mattress to fit both me and my partner. We needed the order to arrive on a specific date and they were the only mattress company that would help us with it – really helpful!

    However, on the day, the courier delivered us a wrong mattress and told us the delivery would be rescheduled.

    When I called JohnRyan to tell them what happened, Julie sorted it out immediately and we had our mattress delivered on the same day.

    I took delivery of this mattress a week ago. The quality of the mattress is exceptional and represents excellent value for money. It is rather firm at the moment as I weigh just 9st but I am hoping it will soften in time as I am a side and back sleeper, I suffer from severe scoliosis. Consequently the mattress needs to be soft. I purchased this mattress as the John Ryan by Design website states it is suitable for side sleepers with a back problem.

    Very pleased with our new origins 1000 comfort mattress. Researched this buy thoroughly and was very thankful for all the info on John Ryan site and advice given by them. We received it two weeks after order, pleased with delivery service who also took away our old mattress. As we have only had the mattress two weeks we are still in the settling in period. Other half took to it straightaway, I find it much better than old one and helpful with health issues, this is designated at the softer end of mattress guage but has plenty of support. We bought a king zip and link which makes it so much easier to handle. As we use a John Lewis microfibre topper we are completely unaware of the join. Thank you John Ryan.

  32. We’ve now two mattresses and will want a third!
    We’ve now bought two mattresses from JR. The first we bought for ourselves after they were recommended by a friend and after a year it is still as the day we bought it. This purchase was for our spare room, we initially thought we’d just buy a cheap mattress as it’s used infrequently, but the saying ‘buy cheap buy twice’ sprang to mind and after such exceptional service we couldn’t consider anywhere else.

    We only live in a 2 bed, but I’m sure when we expand, we’ll be buying a third 🙂

First Layer: 750GSM Very Soft Polyester: This is the primary comfort layer directly beneath the fabric. In its loose state, the depth of this material is about 3″ in depth. When the mattress is sewn up and tufted, this will be naturally compressed, giving you perfect comfort but also working with the support from the underlying layers.

Second Layer: 500GSM Polyester Pad: This is a relatively firm pad and is used primarily as support for the subsequent softer layer.

Third Layer: One-inch foam insulator: We use a one-inch layer of HD foam directly on top of the spring unit. This cushions all the fillings from the spring unit but also works with you, enabling the pocket springs to rise and fall as you move.

The mattress (Side Panel) depth is 10″ plus the undulations caused by the multi-layers of wadding bring the height to a more realistic 13″ deep. The side panels are machine stitched and finished in a complimentary durable fabric.  The mattress cover is a premium soft knit Silk content fabric.

The Origins Comfort is supportive to a level at what we would class as a ‘true medium’ based on average body weight. Not too firm and not too soft.
