Is this £200 mattress any good?

Maureen asked

Hi hope you can help. I seen advertised as followed :
We’re offering
Sweet dreams are made of these, who are we to disagree? Thanks to today’s deal, you’ve got the chance to get cosy with a fabulous 3000 pocket sprung mattress. These beautifully hand-crafted mattresses both consist of a unique spring system – a standard pocket spring unit with a mini tablet layer. Topped with either polyester and cashmere or super supportive memory foam, you’re sure to get a good night’s sleep!
What’s the difference between the polyester and chashmere to memory foam??
Is what is advertised a good quality mattress for £200 pound??
Hope you can help with my question.
Thanks

Hi Maureen,

Polyester is a man-made component, which can be used in the upholstery of a mattress, whereas cashmere is a naturally sourced component that can also be sued in mattress upholstery. The cashmere is more expensive and this is usually reflected in the price of products containing it.If the layer proposed is a mix of polyester and cashmere, I would want to know the ratio, although, at the price quoted, I would imagine that there is very little cashmere included. As far as memory foam is concerned, this is very heat retentive and is slow to return to shape, meaning that when you wish to move position in bed, it can feel as though you are climbing out of a hole.

Having said all of the above, I would say that the old maxim “you get what you pay for” applies and I cannot agree that this will be a quality product if only priced at £200.00.

Kind regards
