Overheating on Relyon Venice bed

Mark asked
28th February 2015

Hi – hope you can help. I am a ‘hot sleeper’. I bought an expensive Relyon ‘Venice’ bed 3 years ago and have never had a good nights sleep on it because I always overheat. The mattress is pocket sprung and beautifully comfortable and although I have tried the thinnest duvets I can find, I am always cool on top and hot on the bottom. My old bed was fine, but as the springs gave out became very uncomfortable and gave me backache. Have you got any suggestions / recommendations?

I am 13 stone and actually sleep quite well on a thick duvet on the floor as I like a firm mattress and I don’t get hot (but I would much prefer to be in a comfy bed!). Thanks. >

Hi Mark,

Thanks for your question.

It sounds like you may just be one of the warmer sleepers unfortunately.

I can’t find any details on our bed archive of a Relyon Venice, only a Rest Assured Venice.

If you like a firmer feel our Origins Pocket Reflex 1000 is one of our starter firmer feel mattresses.

That said, a more natural fibre mattress like the Artisan Bespoke will be cooler than a synthetic mattress.

If you can advise on a budget we maybe can help further. At your body weight you are matched with a Medium spring tension to get the right level of support;

BodyweightSpring tension
Upto 16 Stone / 50-101kgMedium (1.4mm)
16 Stone / 101kg UpwardsFirm (1.6mm)
Available in Bespoke Products (Please Call)Soft (1.2mm)

I must make you aware that you could just be a really warm sleeper, and whilst its best to avoid synthetic elements to ensure its as breathable as possible I can’t guarantee a mattress will be cool enough as its rather subjective.

It sounds like you’re taking all the usual measures to reduce heat where possible.

I hope this helps but if you have any further queries please don’t hesitate to contact our office on 0161 437 4419.

Kind Regards, Lee.
