At the body weights provided we would match you to a dual spring tension; One half Medium for yourself and the other half Firm for your partner.
The spring is what provides the level of support from within the mattress itself.

However, your partner is very much borderline between a Medium and a Firm spring so he could opt for either. If he does want something a bit more supportive then he should choose the Firm spring.

Once the spring tension is established we then focus on the top layers of the mattress also referred to as the comfort layers.

With existing pains, we would always advise not to opt for a mattress that is too firm in the comfort layers as it will only serve to make those pains worse.

As such I would guide you towards our Artisan Naturals mattress, which is the true medium feel of it’s range; I.e, not too soft nor too firm.

Alternatively, for something ever so slightly softer I would also advise looking at our Artisan Bespoke 004.

The Artisan range is constructed from a differing percentage of natural fibres and materials and as such generally come in feeling slightly softer than our starter pocket sprung range and also feel cooler to the touch, solving the heat issue during the night. The Artisan Naturals is constructed from 85% natural fibres compared with 100% for the Bespoke 004.
