Split tension mattress or zip and link?

As it happens it is one of the most common that we receive.

Zip and link mattresses, which are available in king size or above, are primarily selected to facilitate access where this is restricted, but may also be selected due to the fact that the spring tensions are not adjacent to each other on the scale i.e. soft & firm. If access is not an issue and you are opting for adjacent tensions on the scale i.e. soft and medium, then a one piece can be made in king size and above only in our Artisan range, which contain natural upholstery.

Your particular body weights dictate different spring tensions for you both, soft for you and medium for your husband and so unless access is an issue, a one piece would be appropriate. Both zip and link and one piece pocket sprung mattresses provide for movement of one party during the night without undue disturbance of the other party. However, please note that you are borderline between a Soft and Medium spring. Generally we find, from speaking to customers, that most people above 9st tend to prefer a Medium spring to have a bit more support.

We would suggest that you view the Artisan Naturals, Artisan Bespoke 004 or the Artisan Bespoke all of which can have the split spring tension referred to. The Naturals has 85% natural upholstery and Bespoke 004 has 100% with both providing a similar feel. The Bespoke on the other hand has more upholstery and will provide a slightly firmer feel in the upholstery even when a soft spring tension is selected, which is something we note you both prefer.
