Vispring Bedstead Superb Advice

We previously purchased our Mattress from JL – about 5 years back when their ‘naturals’ range was different to the range they have now. For reference this was one of those mattresses where they clearly thought layers of micro springs as well as large pocket springs was the way to go…. A good double Mattress this appeared to actually work well (no back pain!) but when we came to moving and bought a K-Size bed a return to JL showed they didn’t have the same mattresses any more…
After looking at various makes (Hastens, Savoir, Vispring) we settled on the ‘Medium’ Vispring Bedstead Superb – this was for me 14st and Wife 8st. Both of us have found the Mattress has brought back pain (lower in me especially) since we bought it – we are confused is this because the bed is too soft OR firm – we are both differing weights and heights and the feel is hard to describe almost like the Mattress feels harder but is similarly less supportive at the same time!
What are your thoughts on the VS Bedstead Supreme and given the differing weights we have what would you best recommend in your range? Seems a shame to throw out such an expensive Mattress but we seem to have no choice!

Thank you for your question. We do not make or recommend micro HD springs as they offer nothing in support but take up space where more luxurious upholstery layers should be.
The Vispring Bedstead Superb has a medium feel in the upholstery layers and two tiers of springs. This gives the mattress a softer support and a bouncier feel to the mattress. If you are front or back sleepers, it could be that you are sinking in too much which causes lower back pain. Our comparable mattress is the Artisan Bespoke 002
The Vispring Bedstead Supreme has a firm feel in the upholstery layers and one tier of springs. If you are side sleepers, it could be that it is too firm and you are pivoting on your shoulders and hips which puts pressure on your lower back. Our comparable model is the Artisan Bespoke.

The medium spring tension provides the correct level of support for both you and your wife as it supports body weights up to 17 stone depending on height.
How old is the mattress? It can take time for your body to adjust to a new mattress and for the upholstery layers to settle. If the mattress is too firm adding a mattress topper would provide an additional layer of comfort as well as help to prolong the lifespan of your mattress.
