Hi Jilly,

Thanks for your question and what an excellent question.

Don't think for one moment that a bed retailer will know exactly what mattress will be correct for any kind of back ailment.

Our guidance would be that you would normally need some sort of support but also pressure relief so the pains aren't exacerbated.

As such, you would always be better with something more medium feeling overall giving that slight sink into the top layer and some of that pressure relief.

Have a look at our Origins Pocket 1500 or our Artisan Naturals. Both have that medium feel in the top layers but the main difference here is that the Artisan range is constructed with natural fillings and those fillings not only last longer but also provide a cool sleep surface.

We would need to know your body weights and sleeping habits in order to make a definitive recommendation though;

Bodyweight Spring tension
Upto 16 Stone / 50-101kg Medium (1.4mm)
16 Stone / 101kg Upwards Firm (1.6mm)
Available in Bespoke Products (Please Call) Soft (1.2mm)

I hope this has helped but if you have any further queries please don't hesitate to contact our office on 0161 437 4419.

Kind Regards, Lee.
