Do you deliver to Isle of Man?
Hello Thank you for such and informative and interesting site.
I want to buy a replacement mattress for our double divan bed but as I live in the Isle of Man I have limited choice so wonder if you could advise me on what to look for locally.
I see you only deliver to UK mainland but maybe know of internet suppliers who could deliver here.
Both my husband and I have arthritis so 'medium soft' comfort but 'medium' support necessary (I think!).
Requirements: Double 4ft 6", pocket sprung, quilt top, (possibly latex on top but other material if possible).
I have been to one shop who have a (Dream, I think)Pocket Quilt 1000 matress costing £395.
Thanks for you help, Kind regards Elizabeth
.
Hi Elizabeth.
Thank you for your question. I have spoken to our courier firm and they can deliver to the Isle of Man, but there would be a delivery fee.
The medium support is for individuals whose body weight is between 10 and 16 stone. Getting the correct spring tension, which is based solely on body weight, is important to give you the correct level of support. An individual of say 8 stone would not have sufficient weight to compress a medium spring tension and a 19 stone person would compress the spring too much, neither will get the correct support.
Spring Tension | Wire diameter (Gauge) | Weight Range |
---|---|---|
Soft | 1.2mm | Bespoke Tension (Please Call) |
Medium | 1.4mm | Upto 16 stone |
Firm | 1.6mm | 16 stone plus |
Extra Firm / Orthopaedic | 1.9mm | 20 stone plus |
Without the actual manufacturer of the mattress you mentioned it is impossible to get any detailed information in order to make any kind of comparison. I would say though, with the condition both you and your husband suffer from, you should be looking at either a soft in the comfort layers or the softer end of the medium spectrum. The softest in our Origins range is the Origins Comfort 1000 whereas the Origins Pocket 1500 is a good all-round medium fell mattress, which if too firm could be softened down with a mattress topper. We would recommend trying a mattress for a few weeks first to get a true feel for a mattress as a mattress topper may not be necessary.
If you would like any further information or to discuss the suitability of any of our mattresses please do not hesitate to contact the office on 0161 437 4419. Our office hours are 8 am – 8 pm Monday to Friday and 10 am – 4 pm Saturday and Sunday.
Kind Regards
Michaela
