A customer asked

G'day, I stumbled onto your website because I'm in the process of deciding what mattress to buy. Can anyone confirm if Latex mattresses are hot to sleep on hear in as it is a common complaint about them?

Hi Karen,

Thanks for your question.

Heat from a mattress is quite subjective. There are numerous 'complaints' re memory foam mattresses and the heat aspect which is the number one concern. However, there are also comments from people who do not see this as a problem and even some people will say that is is entirely unnoticeable. The same is true with Latex.

True, there are some comments saying that latex is a heat retentive component, but in the main it is deemed to be unnoticeable. Any heat problems associated with any mattress can be combated with the correct bedding. It is pointless to expect a cool sleeping environment if you are using the heaviest tog duvet in the midst of Summer.

Generally for a cool sleep surface you need to be looking at either natural fillings, such as our Artisan range, or 100% natural latex, such as our Fusion range.

I hope this has answered your questions fully but if you do have any further queries please don't hesitate to contact our office on 0161 437 4419. We are open Monday to Friday 8am to 8pm and Saturday and Sunday 10am to 4pm.

Kind Regards, John and Ryan.
