What we struggle with is that most retailers don't disclose how they fully construct so we in turn struggle to compare or offer any advice.

 

With the Sleepmaster it lists the fillings vaguely but doesn't disclose the amount; Difficult for us to compare or comment on.

 

With John Lewis's Natural Collection this is more in line with our Artisan range. This is a range of traditional pocket sprung mattresses with a differing percentage of natural fillings.

 

Natural fillings are what provide a cool sleep surface; Ideal for anyone who identifies as a hot sleeper.

 

The firmest mattress we have within that range is the Artisan Bespoke. This has no sink into that top layer whatsoever. Please note, however, that we'd steer clear of a firm mattress if you are a side sleeper as this will only serve to cause pressure point pains in places such as shoulders, hips and knees.
