Hi which mattresses should I choose for an electric bed please?

Hi Leigh.

Firstly, if the mattresses were joined together that would surely inhibit the independent motion of each half of the bed.

I need a bit more information about this part.

The bulk of all mattresses made for electric adjustable beds are based on an entirely foam construction.

This is due to the flexibility of the mattress working with the motion of the bedframe.

Secondly, some mattresses utilise a steel rod edge to contain the springs - therefore when you raise foot or head parts of the bed the mattress is unable to adjust accordingly.

Therefore, with sprung mattresses the steel frame of the springs has to be a 'flat' design - this has the necessary flexibility the mattress requires.

Ideally, you should be looking at Vi Spring mattresses.

These have no rod / flat edge perimeter at all and therefore are entirely flexible - more than adequate for any electric adjustable beds.
