Will Sealy mattress be OK for TV bed?
Hi, I have just bought a crystal t.v.
bed and the base is slatted.
the gaps in between are about 9cm.
I have just ordered a sealy mattress 2400 alabama.
Would this be ok for this bed if I was to board it like you say ?
Hi Mel,
Thank you for your question.
I would always recommend boarding over a slatted base because for the cost of a few pounds you can help prevent a foam or foam based mattress from taking on the shape of the slats and thus potentially dipping or sagging.
The Sealy Alabama 2400 is a pillowtop, one sided mattress. We always advise against pillowtops as once the top layer loses its shape you are done for and there is nothing that you can do to fix the problem! It is always best where possible to choose a turnable mattress with a separate topper if necessary.
The only one sided mattresses even worth considering are those which have a Latex as a top layer similar to our Origins Pocket Latex 1500.
John Ryan By Design Origins Latex | |
---|---|
1 | 300 gsm Wool Silk blend pad |
2 | 3cm Talalay Latex (60/40% blend) 70kg Density |
3 | 3cm Talalay Latex (60/40% blend) 70kg Density |
4 | One inch HD Foam |
5 | 1500 Spun Bond Pocket Springs |
However we always say if the bed is comfortable then that is all that matters, it just maybe something to bear in mind that you may want to rotate the mattress more often to reduce the wear of the pillowtop.
Hope that helps Mel, if you have any further questions please do not hesitate to give the office a call on 0161 437 4419.
Kind regards,
Amy.
