Best mattress for keeping cool

Hi there, first of all thank you for a very informative website!
I have just come across a mattress called the Dormeo octaspring, which claims to have the benefits of memory foam, without the heat - do you have any thoughts on this type of mattress?
Also do you have any products in your range that are especially good with keeping cool at night?
Budget is c.£1,500 for a kingsize. Any views would be greatly appreciated. >

The Octaspring is a memory foam cylindrical spring to mimic both springs and memory foams. They may be slightly cooler than solid memory foam but memory foam itself is one of the warmest mattress materials out there.
The Octaspring is relatively new (I.e, a couple of years old) and so there hasn't been a huge amount of evidence either way on the heat control potential of them.
If you are spending £1500 I would recommend you go for a more natural traditional mattress, tried and tested in its construction method, rather than a foam spring mattress. There is a reason that wire springs are still in heavy use, this is because quality springs do the job required of them!
As such, I'd advise to have a look at our Artisan range of mattresses. These are traditional pocket sprung mattresses with natural fillings that provide a cool sleep surface. We would need to know your body weights as well as preferred feel in the top layers as the 7 different models have 7 different feels and won't be suited to everyone. The Luxury is the softest mattress in the top layers, the Naturals is a true medium in those layers and the Bespoke is the firmest.
