What topper evens out the undulations on the mattress?

A customer asked

Hi, My wife and I have recently bought a new mattress as the old one was ten years old and giving us back pain. However, we have not been sleeping well on the new mattress which is very disappointing. I think the quality of the mattress is good but we are struggling with the feel of the undulations caused by the tufting. We have since purchased a microfibre topper to try to even this out but, if anything, now find it too soft. We are both 12.5 stone and both prefer a firmer mattress. The mattress we bought is a Highgrove Regency 1500 Pocket Sprung Mattress (Medium) and when we tested it in the shop it felt fine. Our bed has wooden slats which are evenly spaced, about every 10cm. My questions are; do you know if these are good mattresses and what kind of topper could even out the undulations whilst still retaining a firm feel?

Thanks.

Hi Richard,

Thanks for your question.

A mattress topper is the only real way to get away from the sensation of the tufted areas.

Tufts are there to keep all the fillings in place inside the mattress and in turn keeping the mattress intact.

Have a look at a company called Soak and Sleep. They have a much wider range of toppers than we do and should have something more suitable.

I hope this helps but if you have any further queries please don't hesitate to contact our office on 0161 437 4419.

Kind Regards, John and Ryan.
