Hi Patrick,

A sprung slatted base will give a slightly softer feel given they have a small amount of compression in them.

That said it won't be as significant as say a sprung edge divan.

Is the same true when using MDF boards over sprung slats?

Hi Patrick, The MDF will ever so slightly firm up the feel of the mattress compared to 'bare' sprung slats.

We're talking ever so slightly and the boarding actually prevents a number of other problems that can occur if the slats are left without boarding.
