We are still struggling to find the best replacement for our old very comfortable Relyon Medium Pocket Spring bed. Tried to "upgrade" to Vi-Spring but have real doubts that they make a soft feeling bed. I am 15 stone and my wife 8 1/2 stone. We've tried Vi-Spring Shetland (Soft/Medium), this felt superb in the showroom but soon seemed to settle with an underlying firmness, Shetland Superb (rock hard and returned), Tiara Superb (Medium) again felt soft at first but then firm during the night waking with aches and pains!
It seems we are not the only ones to experience this independent research www.rgio5.com/buyers_guide/vi-spring.html also found many side sleeping testers found the Vi-Spring Herald Superb uncomfortable.
We wonder if this is our problem as we prefer to side sleep?
I was thinking of ordering your Artisan 004 Kingsize in Soft/Medium as this has the 1.28 springs, I suppose I am concerned as although this copies the thinest in the Vi-Spring range (presumably the softest), given our experience with Vi-Spring beds I am hesitating?
I should have said we also use a Jensen Tempsmart topper, which has improved things a bit, but still this issue of feeling soft at first but firm over night when side sleeping.
We are wondering about switching to a foam bed as friends have suggested this may sort our problem as they are ideal for side sleepers. I have read the website details of the Hybrid 4 Memtech Laygel and Hybrid 6 Pocket Laygel, would you recommend either of these in our situation?
The overall feel we are trying to achieve is soft (like a cloud) with some underlying support but allowing our shoulders and hips to sink in in order not to create pain.
I am writing this at 4.30 am after another night's disturbed sleep, so we need your help.
