I damaged ligaments in shoulder and need mattress help
Hi, i am looking for a double mattress, my husband and I are both around a 100kg and both suffer from back pain. I had a fall down the stairs a few years ago causing damage to the ligaments and tendons in my neck and shoulders, i still suffer with pain around the neck and shoulders causing severe headaches. We are both side sleepers. Please.could you advise on a suitable mattress.
Hi Esther,
At your body weights, you are both on the cusp of a medium or firm spring tension depending on the firmness you are looking for.
Bodyweight | Spring tension |
---|---|
Upto 16 Stone / 50-101kg | Medium (1.4mm) |
16 Stone / 101kg Upwards | Firm (1.6mm) |
Available in Bespoke Products (Please Call) | Soft (1.2mm) |
As you are both side sleepers you don't want anything too firm in the upper layers as this could potentially cause pressure point pains.
I would advise having a look at the Origins Pocket 2000 (You would need to select the 2000 spring option) This is a predominantly synthetic mattress with an initial comfort layer of wool.
Another option would be the Artisan Naturals in a firm spring tension. This would be slightly softer in the comfort layers and should assist with your neck and shoulder pains.
I hope this helps. If you have any further questions please don't hesitate to contact the office on 0161 945 3457
